Programming

Current generations can attest to the amount of time spent in front of a computer or mobile device. Whether browsing, gaming, simulating, or coding, every piece of software has had a team of bright programmers that designed, developed, and debugged the product.

In an engineering context, programming is quickly becoming a valuable language to know, irrespective of the discipline you’re in. Competitors aim to display their fluency and versatility by creating software from scratch that solves a given engineering problem. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of software development, it is recommended that each team have members with a variety of disciplines, but is not necessary for success in the competition. Each team will present the impact of their design in terms of technical efficiency and ease of use, through a formal presentation and a live demonstration of their code and product. Competitors will be judged based on the originality of their solution, the efficiency of the design, user appeal, and code construction.

Competitors in all years of engineering studies are eligible for participation.
