In March 2020, the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES) will host the Canadian Engineering Competition, where engineering students from across Canada will be welcomed to Winnipeg, Manitoba to showcase their skill in solving real-world engineering problems. Through 8 different competitions, CEC provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge in a structured environment and compete with other engineering students from across Canada. The competitions hosted by CEC are designed to prepare students for challenges they will face in their professional practice.
As they exhibit their technical skills, students will also have the opportunity to network and connect with established engineers. CEC competitors hone their communication, design, and presentation skills; directly resulting in a more effective graduated engineer.
An event of this scale would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors. As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to engage with the brightest engineering students from across Canada. Upon completing their studies, past CEC competitors have continued on as leaders in their industries and have enjoyed successful engineering careers. Alongside supporting engineering students’ future successes, one of the greatest benefits of becoming a CEC sponsor is that the delegates attending the competition will associate your name with a valuable opportunity to practice their engineering skills.
Financially supporting CEC and creating life-long memories for engineering students is as easy as selecting a sponsorship level below. Some sponsorship levels offer opportunities including adding your company logo to the CEC Delegate Package and Apparel, linked logos on the CEC website, and access to the delegates resumes. Our sponsorship levels offer a variety of excellent opportunities for you to engage directly with delegates.
A total cost of $157,000 will be incurred to host CEC in Winnipeg this year. To pay for this event, 63% of revenue is estimated to come from our sponsors and 37% from competitor delegate fees. Of the above total amount, 21% will be spent on accommodations, 16% on logistics, 19% on competition-related costs, 37% on meals and 7% on contingency.
A well-organized team of 26 highly involved University of Manitoba engineering students has been established to ensure that the CEC here in Winnipeg is professionally-run and reflects the talent of engineering students across Canada.
